Welding new sheet to tin worm never looks good Jeff. My preferred weld process would be oxy-acetylene, if it had to be Mig, •6 wire and Argo shield lite, non o that Aldi/Lidl flux core Mig welders, which lays done snot after snot of so called weld.

Purely an expression Jeff, existing metal will have aged, absorbed moisture/salt from road etc. you’ll be glad it’s done though, get finished and back on the road again.
