Mine does what I wanted and keeps the batteries topped up from the solar panel. Others prefer another make, as you would expect. I guess they all do the job of preventing parasitic loss.

I used one successfully for several years with AGM leisure batteries, but @wildebus recommended replacing it for technical reasons when I upgraded to LiFePo4 batteries.

The latest BMs have been updated to work better with Lithium, but basically they are/were setup to activate above a certain voltage and that voltage is below the normal Lithium voltage - so result was they would not go on when solar or EHU is active, but just stay on all the time.
I'd avoid buying a new one and probably replace an existing one, but horses for courses.
